AFC Leopards sign Thika United defender
AFC Leopards have completed their 8th signing of the window roping in Thika United utility defender Wilson Anekeya on a three-year deal.
Anekeya is primarily a right-back but can slot into the central defense and left-back positions. He was a target of Kenyan Premier League side, Nzoia Sugar but Ingwe have pipped the Bungoma based side for his signature.
The defender’s signing has been confirmed by Leopards chairman Dan Mule who said the defender will bring competition into the side. He added that his versatility will also be very important to the team.
“Anekeya has signed a three year contract. He’s a player the coach identified and we’ve signed hm. He is a good player, can play in several positions and that’s important because he will bring competition into the team. For the team to perform well, we need to have competition for positions and that’s why we are bolstering the team well,” Mule told Futaa.com.
He becomes Leopards eighth signing following the arrival of Ezekiel Odera, Ezekiel Owade, Ezekiel Otuoma, Baker Lukooya, Ramadhan Kibiringo, Yusuf Mainge, and Brian Marita.
