Atwoli’s warning to Western NASA defectors
Central Organisation of Trade Unions Secretary General Francis has accused former Western Kenya NASA members who have decamped to the ruling Jubilee Party, after losing in the August general polls of being selfish.
Speaking on JKL Wednesday, Atwoli said the leaders are seeking to secure State jobs should the President Uhuru Kenyatta win during the repeat election.
He also said the leaders risk having a harder time bouncing back to politics after failing to pass the loyalty test.
“These are people who are decamping not because the other side has better ideologies but in a bid to secure jobs should Jubilee win,” he said.
“They lack principles and are ready to dance to anybody’s tune provided that something is guaranteed in return. This is also likely to completely destroy their political career as people no longer believe in them and view them as unreliable individuals.”
Leaders from Western who have since pledged allegiance to Jubilee include former Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga and former MPs Paul Otuoma (Funyula), Ababu Namwamba (Budalang’i and Fred Gumo (Westlands).
Otuoma lost to Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong while Ababu who left ODM lost to former MP Raphael Wanjala.
‘”Even the President and the Deputy know that they have switched allegiance because they lost. Therefore, they should not expect any good treatment.”
