The business community in Uasin Gishu has lauded Governor Jackson Mandago for the great job he has done in transforming the county and making it a 24-hour economy.

Speaking at the Gulab Lochab during a sh10,000 per plate dinner to raise funds for Mandago’s campaign, they said business environment has improved for the past four years and they are able to conduct their business at night due to enhanced security.

“Some of us are nowadays doing business until morning as we have street lights which have enhanced security,” said Joseph Wainaina, one of the businessmen in Eldoret town on Tuesday.

Deputy governor Daniel Chemno on his part said, “Governor Mandago is a great leader who has not only brought this county together but also helped form the North Rift Economic Bloc (Noreb) which he is the chair.”

The governor said his administration had worked ensure a better Eldoret town by initiating several projects among them improving infrastructure, lighting as well as security.

Mandago further reiterated that no public fund allocated to his administration had been embezzled saying “all the money has been put to the right use,” he said, further urging the residents to support his re-election bid.

“We have initiated Kijana na Acre project, Inua Mama na Kuku, build and renovated over 500 dips, acaricides distributed to all dips, sexed semen is now available to farmers at a subsidised price,  over 580 ECDE have been build and 1,000 teachers employed among many other projects,” Mandago explained.
