The late IEBC ICT manager Chris Musando who was brutally murdered after going missing last week will be buried on August 19.

Family members who spoke to the media on Friday said Musando will be laid to rest at his home village in Lifunga, Siaya County.

Friends, family members and senior government will on August 4 view the body at the Lee funeral home as burial preparations proceed.

Musando disappeared on July 28 and was not traced until family members found his body at Nairobi’s City Mortuary.

Mortuary attendants said the body was booked at the morgue by police officers who claimed the body was discovered in Kikuyu, Kiambu County.

Residents of his rural village on Wednesday held protests demanding for the government to quicken investigations into the murder of the ICT expert.

Opposition NASA linked his murder to the August 8 general election.

President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered for Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet to beef up security of all IEBC senior officials following Musando’s death.

“We are appealing to the government to invite foreign investigators to establish who killed Chris,” a relative said at a press conference outside the Lee Funeral Home where Musando’s body is preserved.
