Busia Jubilee gubernatorial candidate and former National Irrigation Board general manager Dan Barasa has urged authorities to prosecute Funyula MP Paul Otuoma and Governor Sospeter Ojaamong over corruption.

Addressing the press in Busia town, Barasa claimed the two contestants for the Busia gubernatorial race were corrupt. He, however, did not provide prove to back the claims.

“If one brands him or herself as corrupt on national radio then he or she should be prosecuted,” he said.

He added that the difference between Ojaamong and Otuoma were business related.

Ojaamong trounced Otuoma during the ODM primaries in Busia in April.

The two, before, worked together until ODM nomination period in which Otuoma rejected the results claiming Ojaamong rigged the exercise.

Barasa told Busia residents to vote for him because of his “clean” record.

During the Busia gubernatorial aspirants’ debate, Ojaamong acknowledged that he was Otuoma’s close friend adding that the two have never disagreed on any platform.

Both Ojaamong and Otuoma were unavailable to respond to the allegations.
