Kisumu ODM leaders blame Jubilee for planned pro-Raila protests
Kisumu ODM leaders have condemned yesterday’s incident and are blaming Jubilee for planned pro-Raila protests saying they had prior information over the planned demonstration.
Orange Democratic Movement supporters in Kisumu yesterday thwarted protests by some youth who were planning to hold demonstrations to compel Nasa principals to grant Raila Odinga two terms if he wins the presidency on August 8.
About 50 youth had gathered next to Awuori House in Kisumu where they wore T-shirts labelled ‘10 million Strong, Raila Miaka Kumi’ and carried placards with similar writings.
A youth who asked not to be named said they were being paid Sh500 each to participate in the protest.
“We had donned the caps and t-shirts in readiness for the protest when the ODM youths pounced on us.”
ODM governor candidate Anyang’ Nyong’o said the Jubilee schemers are keen to scuttle NASA leaders’ unity.
ODM leaders in Kisumu displayed some of the materials confiscated from the youth at a press conference held at Park View Hotel where they linked Jubilee to the scheme.
He was accompanied by MPs Oburu Oginga (Nominated), Fred Outa (Nyando), Aduma Owuor (Nyakach) and Kisumu deputy governor Ruth Odinga.
