Ray Wilkins expects Jose Mourinho to ditch his pursuit of Mesut Ozil and chase Willian who is believed to be unsettled at Stamford Bridge.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea midfielder believes the Arsenal playmaker’s time in England could well be over because of his lack of ‘work ethic’ and while Mourinho has been linked with signing the German World Cup winner, he expects him to end his interest.

Ozil will be available for a cut-price fee in January or on a free transfer at the end of the season but Wilkins still thinks Willian would be the better option for the former Real Madrid boss.

The Brazilian has made just eight Premier League starts this campaign, featuring nine times from the bench, and reports claim he is keen for a move away from Chelsea in order to secure more playing time.

And Wilkins is convinced the 29-year-old would be a smarter bet than signing Ozil.
