Oparanya, Wetangula lock horns over ODM, Ford Kenya rivalry
Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has accused NASA Pentagon member, Moses Wetangula of undermining ODM in Western region.
He said the Bungoma senator has been busy fighting ODM aspirants in the expansive region particularly in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia counties.
Wetangula, he said, has more than ones approached ODM aspirants in the two counties to step down in support of candidates vying for political seats on Ford Kenya tickets.
He said in NASA all political parties are equal and are free to field candidates for all positions a part from presidential.
Oparanya questioned why Wetangula wants to make Ford Kenya the most popular party in the region with over three million votes.
He was speaking at Bungoma Posta grounds when he attended the campaign launch of Bungoma ODM governor candidate Alfred Khang’ati on Sunday.
Oparanya lauded the ODM aspirants from the two counties of rejecting the senator’s overtures.
“Everyone has a democratic right to contest for any elective seat on any party,” he said.
He asked area residents to vote for NASA leader Raila Odinga since he is the only presidential candidate with the capacity to transform Kenya.
“We have sealed all loopholes for rigging. I am assuring you this time round, we are going to win,” he said.
The former Planning cabinet minister lauded the High Court for barring Dubai-based Al Ghurair from printing presidential ballot papers over the company’s relation with the Jubilee administration.
