Pastor dies in gym at a Nyahururu hotel
A pastor working in Nyahururu town collapsed and died in a gymnasium at a local hotel during a training session.
The cleric, the Rev. Peter Mzenda, 45, who hails from a neighbouring country, was going the paces with an instructor and a friend, when he collapsed and died.
Confirming the incident, Nyandarua North OCPD Timon Odingo said “As they were practicing, he collapsed and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.”
Odingo added that the pastor was training using the treadmill and had set a 30 minute session, but did not go beyond ten minutes.
“After collapsing, blood started oozing from his mouth,” Odingo said.
The police boss further said police have launched investigations into the incident to establish what happened.
He said the instructor and the friend of the deceased have recorded statements with the police.
