PDP woes Kisii community
People’s Democratic Party leader Omingo Magara is now wooing the Gusii community to rally behind his party following frustrations they experienced after being duped to fold their parties.
Magara called upon members of the community to rally behind PDP to boost their bargaining power ahead of General Election.
Addressing the press at Nyandusi Stadium, Nyanturago in Nyaribari Chache Constituency where he presided over James Kenani Tournament, Magara claimed he was offered Sh 20m to fold his party, but refused due to manipulation by a major political party.
The PDP Party leader said he will neither support Jubilee Party nor NASA coalition in the August Polls, but will decide on the coalition to work with after the August elections.
Magara, who will be contesting for the Kisii Senatorial seat said he learnt lessons from previous working arrangement with the CORD coalition in the 2013 general election, saying he was denied victory in the coalition.
On devolution, Magara said the leadership in Kisii and Nyamira counties had failed and a total overhaul was necessary to redeem the situation.
During the event, Magara asked the people of Nyaribari Chache to elect James Kenani who sponsored the Soccer tournament as their next Member of Parliament, saying he had vast experience in public services for the last 40 years.
Kenani asked the community to support him and called for unity saying it would give them bargaining power like other areas.
He said Nyaribari Chache Constituency Development record stood out nationally as one of the best in terms of CDF distribution during his tenure in 2002 adding; he was best suited to clinch area Parliamentary seat come August Polls.
