Safaricom has managed to come in as the fourth most valued brand in Africa. This is according to the annual Brand Africa 100.

The report states that the mobile money transfer service has propelled Safaricom to the top with a Sh70 billion value.

Safaricom together with Tusker are the only Kenyan brands that made it to the top ten list in the report.

Safaricom happens to be the largest telecoms firm in Kenya with a total of 26 million subscribers

In Africa, the largest telecommunication company is South Africa’s MTN which topped the list valued at Sh304 billion.

Other top ten most valued African Brands include South Africa’s Multichoice (valued at Sh63 billion) and retail chain’s Pick and Pay (valued at Sh58 billion) both at five and six places respectively.
