Suspected goons stone Kibwezi East MP’s car
Suspected irate youth in Kibwezi East constituency stoned MP Jessica Mbalu’s personal car after two warring groups clashed at Makutano town.
Mbalu described the occurrence as a planned attack against women leadership in Kenya.
“It’s unfortunate to witness such a barbaric act towards me, which translates to violence against women,” she said.
The act has been condemned by a section of leaders including Makueni County Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior who reprimanded the incident and called for the law to be enforced.
“Let investigations be done and law applied on the suspects accordingly”, he said.
The incident happened barely a day after the Makueni women Representative Rose Museo and clergies from Ukambani held a major prayer day at Wote town with a message of unity and peace.
Mbalu was elected overwhelmingly in 2013 on Wiper party ticket and in 2017 Elections she will be defending her seat against Prof. Phillip Kaloki (Jubilee) and Kitonga Mwilu (Muungano party).
