Uhuru: Parliament to convene soon to discuss cost of living
President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured Kenyans that his government will soon convene a Parliamentary session to discuss the skyrocketing cost of living.
Uhuru who spoke at Bomas of Kenya after the Jubilee Party National Delegates Convention handed him the certificate to fly the Jubilee flag said that the session will discuss allocation of funds to cushion consumers from the runaway cost of living.
And in his characteristic charm offensive to the youths,Uhuru said that soon his government will launch digital jobs for the youth.
“We want our youths to get jobs from everywhere so long as they are connected on mobile phones” Uhuru said.
He added that his administration will allocate Sh5billion to built enough education infrastructure including technical training centres.
“It is the government’s responsibility to educate the population,especially the younger generation” said Uhuru.
He urged those who lost in the just concluded party nominations to support the party to win in the August polls.
“You should be my campaigners when you go back to the village” said Uhuru.
On the issue of cost of living, he said that his government had initiated several irrigation projects geared towards increasing food security.
