Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has singled out midfielder Jack Wilshere for his outstanding performance in their impressive 6-0 Europa League group stage victory over BATE Borisov.

Speaking in a press conference following the match, Wenger said – Jack is moving forward. You could see tonight that he is ready now to play. He is sharp. He is quick.

He is incisive with his dribble. Technically he was very good tonight. I would say for 70 minutes of the game he was dominant in midfield on the creative side and that’s very good news for us.

Wilshere was undoubtedly the man of the match as the Englishman not only skillfully controlled the midfield and created play after magnificent play, but also got on the scoring sheet after netting his first goal for the English side since May 2015.

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has also lauded the 25-year-old for his stellar display during the match and further touted the midfield maestro as the top ‘B Team’ candidate for promotion to the starting XI.
