A middle aged woman appeared before a Kericho court charged with possessing and trafficking 732 sticks of bhang valued at Sh 131,760 along the Kisumu-Kericho highway on Sunday.

Eunice Anike Owino pleaded not guilty on Monday before Kericho resident magistrate Benjamin Limo and was released on a bond of Shs 100,000 with a surety of similar amount.

Owino was charged that on 23 April 2017, she transported the bhang using an Isuzu mini-bus registration number KCE 732S.

The prosecution told the court that the accused were arrested by police officers manning a road block at Kipsitet police station at around 11.30am.

By press time, the accused had not raised the bond. The case will be mentioned on15 May and was fixed for hearing on 31 July this year.
