With the assistance of a multi-agency rescue team and members of the local community, the Kenya Red Cross announced in a statement on Thursday that it had successfully rescued the flood victims.
Floods had left the locals stranded after Tuesday night’s intense rain.
The statement read, “As the nation continues to experience flooding, you can learn more about the vital work we are continuing with the support of the National and County governments and other partners here, redcross.or.ke/floods.”
Many parts of Kenya, including the coastal region, central areas (including Nairobi), the Western Highlands, the Rift Valley, and Lake Victoria, have been severely damaged by the heavy rains.
